Market Research Analyst/Admin Assist

Part-time contract position: 15 hrs per week

Cox eLearning Consultants, LLC (www.coxec.com) is a business development consulting firm that advises and assists learning companies in the building of their businesses.

This is a part-time 1099 contract position for approximately 15 hours per week. Initially work will be performed from your home. Eventually work will be performed at a new office yet to be established in the Murrieta, CA area. Applicants must live near Murrieta. You must have their your own laptop PC computer running Microsoft Windows 10, MS Office 2013 or 2016 or 365, and have high speed internet.

We are looking for a person who will primarily serve as a Market Research Analyst (MRA), but also provide administrative assistance to the firm along with customer support. The responsibilities can be summarized to be:

  • Conduct market surveys and solicit participation in the surveys
  • Write industry reports from the survey data.
  • Administrative support

For your primary MRA role, you will to be responsible for interpreting data, formulating reports and making recommendations based upon research findings. To accomplish this task, the MRA works with the client to understand, define and document the overarching business objective. The MRA will gather data on consumer demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits. Data/information will be collected using a variety of methods, such as interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, market analysis surveys, public opinion polls, and literature reviews.

As an Administrative Assistant, the applicant will assist in a variety of administrative tasks as needed such as locating and arranging lease for an office space, coordinate the office set up, and office management.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing programs and strategies
  • Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data, such as surveys, questionnaires, and opinion polls
  • Gather data about consumers, competitors, and market conditions
  • Analyze data using statistical software
  • Prepare reports and present results to clients and management


  • An expert with MS Excel. Proficient with other Microsoft Office products — Word, Outlook, PPT
  • Proven market research analysis experience
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task
  • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking
  • Excellent written and communication skills
    Ability to work independently and with all levels of management, customers and vendors
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats of market research, administrative assistance, and customer support


Bachelor’s degree (in marketing, market research, business administration, or communications)


$20 per hour
